Secure Your Key Exchanges with FrodoKEM
At Kyber Club, we offer tools for FrodoKEM, a quantum-safe key encapsulation mechanism based on the Learning With Errors (LWE) problem. Our beta platform supports FrodoKEM-640-AES, FrodoKEM-976-AES, and FrodoKEM-1344-AES, providing robust options for post-quantum security.
Use our tools to generate keypairs, encapsulate shared secrets, and decapsulate them with quantum-resistant protection. Please note that FrodoKEM is a beta implementation while awaiting official NIST FIPS standardisation.
What is FrodoKEM?
FrodoKEM is a key encapsulation mechanism designed for post-quantum cryptography, leveraging the Learning With Errors (LWE) problem to ensure security against quantum computer attacks. Unlike NIST-standardised algorithms like ML-KEM, FrodoKEM is a conservative, research-focused approach, ideal for testing quantum-safe solutions.
At Kyber Club, we provide FrodoKEM tools to help you explore this quantum-safe technology, preparing your systems for a quantum future.

What Are Key Encapsulation Mechanisms (KEM)?
A Key Encapsulation Mechanism (KEM) enables secure key sharing over an insecure network. It generates a shared secret, encapsulates it with a public key, and allows the recipient to decapsulate it using their private key.
FrodoKEM uses this approach to deliver quantum-safe key exchange, offering a reliable foundation for cryptographic applications.
Encapsulation vs Encryption - The Difference
While both encapsulation and encryption protect data, they serve distinct purposes. Encryption conceals data to ensure confidentiality, whereas key encapsulation, like FrodoKEM, securely shares cryptographic keys.
At Kyber Club, our FrodoKEM tools focus on quantum-safe key encapsulation, which can be paired with encryption for comprehensive data security.
Why Choose FrodoKEM?
FrodoKEM provides unique advantages for those exploring post-quantum cryptography:
- Quantum Resistance - Based on the LWE problem, FrodoKEM offers strong protection against quantum attacks.
- Conservative Design - Its robust structure makes it ideal for research and testing quantum-safe systems.
- Flexibility - Variants like FrodoKEM-640-AES, 976-AES, and 1344-AES cater to different security and performance needs.
- Open-Source - FrodoKEM's transparent design fosters trust and community collaboration.
